We are not committed to being traditional. We are not committed to be progressive.

We are not committed to defending tradition. We are not committed to break tradition.

We are not committed to anyone's agenda of change. We are not committed to maintain the status quo.

In the context of being biblical, we believe that there are certain matters of truth revealed in the Bible that are absolute.  We believe that those things are clearly taught and have the power of a “thus says the Lord” behind them.

But we also believe that the Bible allows for differences in many areas.  Not everyone comes to the same conclusion about everything in the Bible. Our mission is not to condemn or criticize others but to invite everyone to join us on a journey that leads to transformation.

In these matters we seek to follow the New Testament principle paraphrased by the fathers of the American Restoration Movement:

In matters of faith: unity

In matters of opinion: liberty

In all things: love

We do believe that there are certain areas of the work and ministry that are absolutely fundamental to being a follower of Jesus. 

 We believe these include

1.     Worship/Praise 

2.      Education/Edification

3.      Fellowship/Intimacy

4.      Outreach/Service.

We are not interested at all in just “keeping house.” We have no desire to "play church." It is our mission, our calling and our passion as a church to exalt Jesus as Lord and we invite you to join us. 
 

WHAT WE BELIEVE …

• There is only one true God and He is bigger, better, and closer than we can imagine.
   
• The Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for living.
   
• God has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These are co-equal and are one God.
   
• Jesus, the Son, is God showing himself to us. 
   
• The Holy Spirit, who was sent by the Son from the Father, is equal with the Father and the Son.
   
• The Holy Spirit lives in each member of God’s family and guides us.
   
• Nothing in creation “just happened” God made it all. The Creator of all life and Supreme Ruler of the Universe.
   
• Salvation is a free gift (Grace) from God. To accept this free gift is the only way to have a relationship with God. We believe that man can never make up for his shortcomings against God (sins) by self-improvement, good works, personal goodness, or by belonging to a church.  Only accepting the gift (grace) of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty.  We believe in demonstrating our trust and faith in Jesus by obeying his command including to be buried in baptism with Christ (Rom.6: 4, Col.2-12)     
   
• God has allowed evil to provide us with a choice, God can bring good even out of evil events and God promises victory over evil to those who choose him.
   
• Heaven and hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end.
   
• Faith is the only way to grow in our relationship with God. We demonstrate our trust and appreciation for Jesus Christ by pleasing him and following his teachings.
   
• The Church is the body of Christ, and is not a building or a particular group. To belong to the church, is to belong to Jesus. The Church is empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the task of reaching the lost, discipling the saved and to serve people like Jesus served people.
   
• Jesus is coming again.

At Central Church of Christ, we try to understand and follow the Bible and its teaching. However, our ability to logically understand the scriptures is not the basis for our acceptability before God. Our salvation is based on what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. We recognized that we cannot be right about everything and therefore completely depend on God’s graciousness and mercy to do so.

We are not the only Christians but Christian only...
